Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Co-Sleep collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Co-Sleep mobile app or related web experiences.
Co-Sleep is designed for private ambient connection, chat, and shared rooms. We collect only the information needed to provide accounts, rooms, messages, contacts, and live session features.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Co-Sleep, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, user ID, guest account status, creation time, and last login time.
- Room and session information, such as room names, descriptions, ambience selections, share codes, member IDs, session status, timestamps, and WebRTC signaling data.
- Messages and conversation data, including chat text, sender ID, sender email, conversation participants, timestamps, and last message previews.
- Contact information you choose to add, such as another user's email address.
- Presence and activity signals, such as recent active status inside a room.
- Camera and microphone access when you choose to use video or audio sessions.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Provide rooms, contacts, chats, direct messages, and live sessions.
- Generate and support share links and room codes.
- Maintain session state, presence, and connection signaling.
- Improve reliability, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues.
Camera, Microphone, and Live Sessions
Co-Sleep requests camera and microphone permissions only for features that need video or audio. Live media is intended to connect participants through WebRTC. Signaling information needed to establish the connection may be stored in Firebase, but Co-Sleep does not use that signaling data to sell advertising or profile users.
Storage and Service Providers
Co-Sleep uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, to store account, room, contact, session, and message data. Firebase is provided by Google. Your information may be processed by Google according to its service terms and privacy practices.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared with other users only as needed for app features, such as displaying your email in a session, contact, conversation, or message. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users, or to operate and secure the service.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Co-Sleep, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some messages, rooms, contacts, and session records may remain until they are deleted or the related account data is removed.
Your Choices
You can choose not to provide certain information, but some app features may not work without it. You can deny camera or microphone permissions in your device settings. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account.
Children's Privacy
Co-Sleep is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use care when sharing sensitive content in rooms, chats, or direct messages.
